Expression of phosphorylated tyrosine kinase zeta chain–associated protein of 70 kDa (ZAP-70, stained red) in T lymphocytes migrating on lymphocyte function-associated antigen 1 (LFA-1) ligand intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1). Activation of ZAP-70 in complex with LFA-1 is a key event after binding of T lymphocytes to ICAM-1, and rapid downstream events culminate to facilitate effective response of the T lymphocyte to injury or infection.
