Aberrant intracellular pSTAT3 is detected in T and NK large granular lymphocyte leukemia (LGL) cells as a consequence of activating STAT3 mutations. A double immunostain in bone marrow shows cytoplasmic CD3 expression (red) in leukemic cells in a case of NK-LGL. Nuclear pSTAT3 (brown) colocalizes to these cells, supporting activation of the STAT3 pathway (1000× original magnification). See the article by Jerez et al on page 3048.
