Predicted α9β1 structure with an inhibitor using homology modeling. The homology modeling approach was used to build the atomistic model. The crystal structure of α4β1 (Protein Data Bank code 3V4P) was used to model the α9 subunit. The aligned model was superimposed on α4β1, and the coordinates of β1 along with divalent ions Ca²⁺ and Mg²⁺ were extracted and merged with the α9 subunit to make a full complex of α9β1. The final model was thoroughly optimized to remove the steric clashes. See the article by Pandey et al.
