To determine whether thrombocytopenia in C1galt1-deficient mice was derived from defects in the terminal differentiation of megakaryotocytes, we performed a proplatelet forming assay using primary megakaryocytes from bone marrow. This image shows β-tubulin expression in megakaryocytes forming proplatelets from C1galt1-deficient mice. C1galt1-deficient proplatelets were shorter and exhibited less branching and budding.
