Angiogenic vessels grown within an extracellular matrix between vascularized compartments in an organ-on-a-chip microfluidic device. The compartments are separated from the matrix by phase guides (blue bars). The vessels can be perfused with platelets, erythrocytes, and neutrophils to study inflammation, vascular integrity, and inflammatory hemostasis. See the article by Riddle et al.
