In Correspondence by Braham and Sarova-Pinhas (Blood 37: No. 6, June, 744-745, 1971), the last paragraph, line 2, reads as if it is Dr. Beutler’s hypothesis that tyrosinase deficiency has been proposed as the basic metabolic disturbance in Parkinson’s disease. The sentence construction in the original letter was intended to suggest the exact opposite, i.e., that the tyrosinase deficiency theory could point to a possible flaw in Dr. Beutler’s favism hypothesis.
