Blood VTH Second Opinion Program

What is Second Opinion?

Second Opinion is designed to provide authors with a quick response to manuscripts previously reviewed at another journal. Editors will evaluate its suitability for peer review in Blood VTH. Turnaround time for editorial review is 2 business days.

How do I submit?

Please visit our submission portal to submit your manuscript for consideration.

How should I prepare my manuscript for a Second Opinion?

  1. Revise your manuscript according to the reviewer comments.
  2. Submit the revised version to Blood VTH.
  • Mention receiving a Second Opinion in your cover letter and include the reviews from the previous journal.
  • Ensure all revisions are marked in the article file. You may upload a clean copy of the manuscript as a supplemental file.
  • Upload a document including the reviewer comments and your point-by-point responses as a supplemental file.

Will my manuscript receive additional review?

When you submit your manuscript for a Second Opinion, the editors will quickly evaluate your submission in the context of the reviews. If the manuscript is a good fit for the journal and the reviewers’ requests were minor and adequately addressed, it is possible the manuscript may be accepted without additional review. In most cases, additional review will be required to evaluate substantial revisions. If that is the case, reviewers will receive special instructions noting the presence of previous reviews and asking them to avoid requesting additional significant changes unless they find serious issues.
