What's in a name? The Trainee Research Award (formerly the Medical Student Award) has been renamed to better indicate its purpose. This award, given to medical students, residents, and a limited number of undergraduates each year, provides $4,000 to support a trainee's research over a three-month period. Additionally, it provides $1,000 for that trainee to travel to the ASH annual meeting. The deadline for application is March 15. More information can be found on the ASH Web site at
