The Institute of Medicine (IOM) has announced the election of 70 new members, including four ASH members, two of whom are past presidents of ASH, Janis L. Abkowitz, MD, and J. Evan Sadler, MD, PhD. Election to the IOM is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.
