Two thousand cells from the c-kithiSca-1+GFP+ fraction of wild-type, RAG1-GFP animals were cultured in serum-free, stroma cell-free conditions with or without 2 ng/mL IL-6 for 14 days. The progeny were analyzed for CD19 and Mac-1 expression by flow cytometry (A) and counted for total cell number (B). Numbers in panel A indicate the percentage of cells falling within the indicated gate. Bars in panel B represent the average and standard error of duplicate wells from 2 separate experiments.
