Figure 5. EGCG can induce apoptosis in CLL B cells. Freshly isolated CLL B cells (n = 7) were cultured in serum-free RPMI with the presence of EGCG for 24 hours. After the 24-hour exposure to EGCG, the cells were subjected to flow analysis with annexin V/propidium iodide to measure apoptosis and cell death. The data are shown as mean ± standard error of the mean. The difference between level of apoptosis for the control versus the highest dose of EGCG (40 μg/mL) was significant (P < .0001).
