HeLa cells were cotransfected with a fixed amount of pLTR II-Luc1.1 plasmid (LTR luc, 20 ng), a fixed amount of pcDNA3.1-tax2b (tax, 100 ng DNA), and increasing amounts of pcfCIITA1-1130, or pcfCIITA1-321, or pcfCIITA322-1130 plasmid DNA. Viral promoter transactivation was measured as reported in “Materials and methods” and expressed as relative LTR transactivation in the ordinate. Bars represent standard error of triplicate values.
