Distribution of maternal platelet counts at delivery and infant platelet counts at birth. At the time of delivery, most mothers were thrombocytopenic and had platelet counts ranging from 50 × 109/L to 149 × 109/L. At birth, most infants had normal platelet counts (higher than 50 × 109L).
