NIH/3T3 cells were transfected with SP1 and/or p300 and exposed to SCFAs for 48 hours, as indicated. Whole-cell extracts were immunoprecipitated with antibodies raised against SP1, run on a 12% acrylamide gel, transferred to nitrocellulose, and probed with antibody raised against a mix of acetylated proteins (lower blot). The membrane was then stripped and rehybridized with the antibody raised against SP1 (upper blot). The visualized bands ran between the 75- and 105-kDa standards.
