Ireg1 protein levels are increased in sla mice and Hp and Ireg1 protein levels are increased in iron-deficient wild-type mice. Western blot analysis of enterocytes from sla mice fed control diet and C57BL/6J mice fed control (Ctrl), iron-deficient (Fe^–), or iron-overload (Fe⁺) diets for 6 months. Enterocyte lysates were probed with antibodies directed against Hp (A) or Ireg1 (B, loading unboiled protein samples). Relative protein levels were quantified using NIH Image.
