Figure 4. MCT-1 protein is not expressed in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Western blotting was performed on 40 μg whole cell lysate with MCT-1 polyclonal antibody. All samples were isolated from peripheral blood of untreated patients (with more than 80% lymphocytes). Protein from Jurkat cells was served as MCT-1—positive control. Control immunoblotting with β-actin verified equal loading. Bcl-2 protein was universally expressed in the patients we analyzed. Peripheral lymphocytes from primary uncultured B-CLL samples demonstrated low to undetectable levels of MCT-1 protein.
