Enhancement of T-cell stimulatory capacity by PGE2.

Naive CD4⁺CD45RA⁺ T cells were incubated with graded numbers of allogeneic MoDCs that had been either left untreated (A) or stimulated with polyI:C (B), a cocktail of proinflammatory cytokines (TNF-α, IL-1β, and IL-6) (C), or sCD40L (D) in the presence (triangles) or absence (open circles) of PGE2. After 4 days of coculture, the proliferative response was measured by³H-thymidine incorporation. The data are shown as the mean of duplicate cultures ± SEM and represent 1 experiment out of 4 yielding similar results.
