Ly49A-mediated inhibition decreases the total lymphoid cellularity by decreasing the T-cell turnover and survival.

(A) Mice were pulsed for 2 days with BrdU and the remaining levels of BrdU incorporation after the indicated chase times were detected by flow cytometry as described in “Materials and methods.” (B) Annexin V binding was assessed on the lymphocytes ex vivo, as an indicator of apoptosis. The cells were incubated with the indicated antibodies and annexin V and analyzed by flow cytometry as described in “Materials and methods.” These data are representative of 3 independent experiments. In all experiments mice were approximately 3 weeks of age at the time of analysis.
