The cells were suspended at 8% Hct in solution C with 1 mM [Ca2+]o and incubated at 37°C in a tonometer. Valinomycin (A) or vanadate (B,C) were added at time = 0. The symbols in panel C (deoxy) apply also to panel B (oxy).
