Rate of heme-degradation in a t-α₁m and oxyhemoglobin mixture.

Oxyhemoglobin (3 μM) was incubated alone or mixed with t-α₁m (24 μM) at 37°C in 0.5 mL 20 mM phosphate buffer, pH 7.4. The absorbance at 410 nm was read at 5-minute intervals for 10 hours, blanking with the incubation solution itself at time zero.
