Graft-facilitating effect of SCs rendered apoptotic after Fas triggering.

BALB/c (H-2^d) mice were submitted to a 6-Gy TBI and grafted 24 hours later with 10⁶ BM cells from FVB (H-2^q) mice alone or with activated SCs rendered apoptotic after exposure to a lytic anti-Fas mAb (Jo2) for 6 or 24 hours (see Figure 1G, H, respectively). Between day 45 and day 50 post-BMT, engraftment was evaluated by FACS analysis. The percentage of engrafted mice (ie, mice with at least 15% of spleen lymphocytes with donor BM phenotype, H-2^q) is shown. *P < .005.
