Stimulation of naive CD4⁺ T cells by CD11b⁻ and CD11b⁺ DCs.

Both CD11b⁻ and CD11b⁺ DCs are potent stimulators of naive CD4⁺ T cells. Freshly isolated DCs (10 to 3 × 10³) were cultured for 5 days with 15 × 10³ allogeneic CD45RA⁺CD4⁺T cells. As few as 10 CD11b⁻ or CD11b⁺ DCs were able to induce naive T-cell proliferation. This figure is representative of 3 experiments.
