Biotinylated echicetin (5 μg) was added to the platelet suspension and incubated for 1 minute. Agglutination was started by adding 2 μg avidin. Curve 1: platelet agglutination induced by biotinylated echicetin/avidin. Curve 2: GPIIb/IIIa inhibitor (Ro44-9883, 1 μM/mL) was added to platelet suspension 1 minute before adding of biotinylated echicetin/avidin. Curve 3: EDTA (5 mM/mL) was added to platelet suspension 5 minutes before adding biotinylated echicetin/avidin. Curve 4: washed platelets plus biotinylated echicetin without avidin.
