Iron blocks the DFX- and CPX-mediated HIF-1α protein induction in HepG2 cells.

HepG2 cells were treated with CPX (8 μmol/L), DFX (100 μmol/L), and 2,2′dipyridyl (100 μmol/L) for 4 hours in the presence or absence of a 1:1 molar ratio of simultaneously added ferrous ethylenediammonium sulfate. HIF-1α protein was quantitated by immunoblotting as described in Figure 4.
