A giant pronormoblast with prominent nuclear inclusion bodies dwarfs the granulocyte precursor cells.

Evaluation of the bone marrow aspirate revealed maturing granulopoiesis and thrombopoiesis but severely suppressed erythropoiesis, which was arrested at the pronormoblast stage. The myeloid:erythroid ratio was 72:1, with pronormoblasts comprising 1.2% of total bone marrow cells.
