CD4⁺ or CD8⁺ T cells were purified and activated with the indicated stimuli, for 5 days, including overnight [³H]-thymidine uptake, as described in “Materials and methods.” Results are expressed as stated in legend of Figure 1 and are representative for each activation condition of 7 and 5 independent experiments for the CD4⁺ and CD8⁺ subsets, respectively.
