Time course of circulating microparticles in patients who survived meningococcal sepsis.

Microparticles were assessed and analyzed by flow cytometry as described in “Materials and Methods.” Figure shows the number of microparticles double stained with annexin V–PE and the indicated FITC-labeled mAb. The shaded area represents the range found in the 5 healthy volunteers. Note that the range of the y-axis varies and that most of the microparticles were of platelet origin.
