TGF-β–mediated transcriptional responses are suppressed by AML1/Evi-1. p3TP-Lux was cotransfected into HepG2 cells along with either the empty pME18S, Evi-1, AML1/Evi-1, or its derivatives in pME18S. Cells were incubated for 24 hours in the presence or absence of 5 ng of TGF-β per mL. Relative luciferase activities were measured in cell extracts, normalized to the β-galactosidase activity.
