Supernatants of tumor and sinusoidal cells isolated from metastatic livers of immuno-competent DBA/2 and immuno-incompetent Balb/c (nu/nu) mice at a late stage of tumor growth alter gene expression in BAEC. Supernatants of the re-isolated and cultured cells were collected at day 1 (S1) and day 5 (S5). BAEC were incubated with the supernatants for 8 hours and total RNA was extracted. BAEC incubated in the culture medium of the tumor cells served as control (C). The mRNA expression of the genes A4, B2, C3, and E10 was analyzed by Northern blot hybridization as described in the legend to Fig 2.
