Phenotype of DC generated after culture of adherent PBMC or sorted monocytes. Cells were cultured in the presence of GM-CSF and IL-4 for 7 days before analysis by flow cytometry. In each case staining with an irrelevant control antibody is represented by the box to the left of the histogram. Adherent PBMC are represented by the solid line, and monocytes by the dashed line. Dead cells were excluded by gating on forward and side scatter properties, and the remaining viable cells were analyzed. In the case of DC generated from adherent PBMC, contaminating lymphocytes were included. Histograms represent data acquired from 10,000 events. Data are representative of four separate experiments.
