Purified leukemic B cells from freshly collected blood samples from two patients were incubated for 48 hours with medium alone, then labeled with FITC-annexin V or an FITC-labeled goat F(ab′)2 anti-rabbit Ig as control. Regions 1 and 2 were determined as before by FACS analysis, according to the SSC/FSC distribution pattern, and the percentage of annexin V+cells was estimated for each region, R1 and R2, using the Procyt software.
