Figure 2. Confocal microscopic analysis of CGRP expression in human monocytes. Monocytes collected from peripheral blood were cultured in vitro for 24 hours and used to test CGRP immunoreactivity. In these images, representative of 4 independent experiments, adherent monocytes showed basal CGRP positivity (A) while LPS-stimulated monocytes showed striking positivity for CGRP (B). When the cells were incubated with LPS and 10 μg/mL anti-NGF antibody, CGRP immunoreactivity strongly decreased (C).
