Hemophilia therapeutics have traditionally been limited to IV delivery, but new technologies have expanded to allow additional modes of administration. Subcutaneous injection of bioengineered clotting factors (N8-GP, BIVV002, CB2679d), as well as novel nonfactor therapeutics, may reduce the treatment burden, particularly in those patients with difficult IV access. Oral administration (CTB-FIX and pH-responsive anionic complexation hydrogels) would provide a noninvasive option, improving ease of administration, as well as patient compliance.
