The percentage of stable (non-bleeding) patients transfused with RBCs whose last recorded Hb level was >8 g/dL from November 2008 through February 2013. Patients in procedural units (operating room, cardiac catheterization laboratory) were excluded, as were patients with a diagnosis of hemorrhage in the discharge problem list.³¹
