Figure 1. Expression of PAI-1 in catecholaminergic cells. Left Panel: Northern blot analysis of PAI-1 mRNA expression in rat PC12 pheochromocytoma cells. Twenty-five μg of total RNA from either untreated or NGF-treated PC12 cells were loaded and separated on a 1% formaldehyde agarose gel. [α-32P]-labeled PAI-1 cDNA and rat cyclophilin cDNA were used as specific and control probes, respectively. The positions of 28 S and 18 S ribosomal RNA are shown. Right Panel: Expression of PAI-1 antigen in PC12 cells (A) and bovine adrenal medulla (B).
