ChIP-chip analysis was performed to determine direct target genes for Scl in megakaryocytic and erythroid cell lines. (A) Mef2C promoter is bound by Scl (red bars) at the transcriptional start site (0) in the L8057 megakaryoblast cell line, but not in the erythroblast cell line (Hox11 immortalized cell line). Scl binding is accompanied by acetylation on histone 3 lysine 9 (H3K9Ac; blue bars) at the transcriptional start site. (B) Band 4.2, a known Scl target gene in erythroid cells, is bound by Scl in the erythroid cell line, whereas no significant signal was observed in the megakaryocytic cell line.
