Figure 2. MyD88, IRAK-1, and TRAF6 are required for HSV-1–induced NF-κB leading to IL-15 gene expression. Wild-type THP1 cells or MyD88-, IRAK1-, TRAF6-deficient cells were treated with mock or HSV-1. After 1 hour of incubation, cells were collected and nuclear extracts were subjected to EMSA analysis with radiolabeled NF-κB consensus oligonucleotide in the presence of unlabeled competitor (a lanes) or nonspecific competitor (b lanes). NF-κB binding was visible by autoradiography.
