Heteroduplex tracking assay of HVR1 quasi species from plasma, liver, and PBMC2s from 4 patients with MC2 (patients 3, 4, 11, 12).

For each patient, heterogeneous HVR1 amplification products from different tissues were hybridized with ³²P-labeled probe derived from plasma major variant. Lane 1 contains the heteroduplex shift control; lane 2 corresponds to the homoduplex control; lanes 3, 4, and 5 show quasi-species distribution in plasma, liver, and PBMC2s, respectively.
