Following irradiation at 2 Gy, cord blood CD34+ cells were plated in contact with the MPCs. The number of CFCs present in fresh CD34+ cells or in progeny from CD34+ cells cultured on MPCs was enumerated by methylcellulose assay (n = 3). As control, cells were plated on irradiated confluent AFT024 feeders.
