Pattern of spontaneous liver metastases in moribund Timp-1^low and wild-type mice. Whole-organ X-Gal staining showed a mosaic perilobular pattern in control wild-type mice. In livers of Timp-1^low mice, a focal/clustered metastasis pattern was detected, showing effective infiltration of the parenchyma of the liver lobuli (bar, 0.5 mm).
