UT-7 (A) and HL-60 (B) cells were seeded at an initial concentration of 1 × 104 cells/mL and cultured for 4 days in the presence of 0.1% DMSO (as a control [•]), TPA (10 ng/mL [▪]), or butyrolactone I (10 ng/mL [▴]). DNA synthesis was serially determined by [3H]thymidine incorporation assay. The cells were pulse-labeled for the final 1 hour of the culture with 5 μCi/mL of [3H]thymidine.
