The fructose transporter GLUT5 is expressed in human erythrocytes. For immunofluorescence, erythrocyte smears were reacted with GLUT antibodies or with antibodies preabsorbed with the corresponding peptide (P) and visualized using fluorescein-coupled secondary antibodies.
