(A) Mice were injected IV with MDA-B02/luc cells and treated with BMP22 (1 mg/kg/day, i.p.) or vehicle from day 1 to day 8. (B) Bone marrow cells were collected and cultured for 2 weeks in the presence of puromycin (1 µg/mL). Colonies corresponding to tumor cells that colonized the bone (TCB) were fixed and stained with 20% methanol-crystal violet (v/v) (scale bar: 1 cm). (C) TCB colonies were counted.
