The extent of T-cell infiltration of the marrow and a gene expression profile indicating “exhaustion” in T cells are associated with response after DLI in patients with persistent CML after allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplantation. The number of donor CD8 cells that have previously infiltrated the marrow is higher in responders (A) than in nonresponders (B), and a gene expression profile indicating exhaustion is observed only in responders.
