Blocking integrin- or chemokine-induced signaling inhibits neutrophil adhesion and formation of platelet-neutrophil aggregates in the microcirculation of the lung after inducing VILI. Mice were subjected to sham or VILI ventilation, and neutrophil accumulation in the lung was visualized by intravital microscopy of the middle right lung lobe by intravital microscopy after 30 minutes.
