Characteristics of patients of the MYD^mut vs MYD^wild groups. (A) The histogram depicts the principal immunologic differences observed in the 2 groups of WM with MYD^mut vs MYD^wild. We observed significant differences based on the CD5 and CD27 expression. CD5, CD23, CD38, CD138, CD80, and CD27 expression were studied on CD19+ cells. (B) IL-6 expression using real-time quantitative PCR in WM compared with CLL. The histogram shows no significant difference in IL-6 expression in patients with MYD^wild group (n = 4) as compared with MYD^mut group (n = 10); however, patients with WM had significantly higher expression of IL-6 as compared with CLL (P < .0001).
