First, a database of mouse promoters of annotated genes was screened. Then orthologous promoters, which were identified using a comparative genomics tool (ElDorado, Genomatix), were analyzed by the same method. Location of the CD11c/DC-STAMP promoter model in Pftk1 promoters across species (A) and in the mouse Ppef2 promoter (B). In the Ppef2 promoter, the 2 BRNF binding sites are so close together (10 bp), that they appear as one.
