Endothelial Met is phosphorylated only upon interaction with unactivated monocytes. Monocytes preactivated with TNFα, IL-1β, or LPS or by previous interaction with ECs fail to activate endothelial Met but do activate endothelial ERK42/44. pMet band of monocyte activation by LPS was inserted by splicing from the same blot.
