The stained slides were scanned using the TissueFAXS Plus automated microscopic workstation (Tissuegnostics) with a Zeiss Axiolmager Z1 using a 40× Zeiss objective using a high sensitivity digital monochrome camera for fluorescence microscopy (TissueGnostics), and captured using TissueFAXS 1.3 software (TissueGnostics). Final images were transferred into Adobe Photoshop 6.0 where TIF files were created. Scale bar represents 25 μm.
