Cdx gene induction modulates lineage-specific gene expression in differentiating EBs. Quantitative real-time RT-PCR analysis of the effect of Cdx1, Cdx4, or Cdx2 induction on the expression of mesodermal (Scl, Runx1, Gata1, Gata2, PU.1, Nkx2.5, and Myogenin) nonmesodermal markers (Pax6, Cytokeratin 17, HNF4) in day 5 EB. Data represent averages of 2 independent biologic experiments and are presented as fold change in gene expression relative to noninduced control, after normalization to the housekeeping gene β-actin.
